A wonderful 5 hour drive on low-traffic, nice condition roads with a good amount of it beautiful scenery with gentle twisties. Many people take one of the two highway routes that go through Bonners Ferry. But if you enter the U.S. via Roseville, turn right at Eureka MT, and then after Libby turn left onto 56 to take the more scenic around-the-lake route to Sandpoint, you will be rewarded with spectacular views, almost no traffic, decent availability of passing lane sections if you need them, and a great ride. Once you turn off 56 onto 200 you will see a large amount of very serious signage warning of ´High Deer Impact Area´ (or some similar wording), and extra warnings about driving during during dusk. I suggest you heed that warning and take it easy - maybe plan to go through that area in the mid-afternoon-ish time. If you leave Fernie about 10:00 am you should hit this just right and arrive in Sandpoint late afternoon. Park the bike and head to the \"Pour Authority\" to cool off with some of their many hundreds of types of craft beers.
