This route takes you from one side of the Sierra Nevada range to the other, over a mountain pass. Both sides have sections which seem very new and quite wide but then all of a sudden it seems to turn into quite a rural road, getting narrower and a tighter corners. Views are very good, not so much from the highest point of the pass but if you go a little further north there is a mirador (lookout) which looks out onto the massive flat land below. From Guadix there are no really good driving roads to Granada, well not that i know of, but the motorway.
