This was one off the better rides on our tour through Colorado. We never heard of this park, but it was an awesome ride on the rim of a giant Mesa overlooking The area. Road was a nice twisty, very scenic and fantastic scenery. I would add that if you plan to ride this route be alert for storms, we road it and a huge lightning storm came and we had lightning strike all around us as we went as quickly as possible to get off the top of this high Mesa. But this is a route not to miss, all members of our group were impressed.
The road through the Colorado National Monument is south and west of I-70, with entrances near Grand Junction and Fruita, and appears as a very faint curvy line at the left edge of the map image. This is twisty two-lane desert mountain road overlooking deep red rock canyons with extraordinary eroded landscapes of balancing rocks and hoodoos. Great campsite overlooking Grand Junction along the northwest section of the road.
