Spectacular ride with many tight switchbacks. A must ride in the fall for color tour. Should also stop at the Leggs Inn in Cross Village for some polish delicacies...
I give this route a poor rating as Im beginning to consider it a bit more dangerous than alternate routes and to give new riders to 119 a heads up. This is a very twisty road with a few very tight corners that have gravel and sand most of the time. Add a few maniacs on sport bikes and the corvette club and you have some potential for disaster. Its also home to a high number of flocks of turkey and a lot of deer. If you ride this be aware of that its not a high speed route but a lazy slow ride at least for the first time. The area around Good Hart has more than its share of deer and its in one of the few straight places....On the turns that say 15 mph be real careful as they are really sharp. Ride this one slowly at first and then my might be even slower on the second.
Very nice trip through the Emmet County area, Road M 119 is completely under a canopy of trees. Excellent views of Lake Michigan.
