New England Calm Natural Beauty This 190 mile tour is a kind of double s lap of the spectacular sights of the White Mountain National Forest and so can be easily shortened of modified at several points. Starting in Bethel, Maine we head west along the Androscoggin River, then we head through the mountain valley south on the lovely 113. From there we head west and then north toward Mt Washington where there are more great views and nice turns, then after cutting across west again on US2 we head south again through the mountains, then west on the excellent Kancamangus highway. A kind of beautiful road less travelled. Finally we join US302 northeast which gives us access to I93 at the finish. ( Image : Sandwich Mountain Range ; Credit : Wikipedia)
