Here is a full day of riding that will reward you but not wear you out.
You can create lots of variations, "add ons" and "sidetracks",
but here is a good route that´s fairly easy to navigate.
If you miss a turn or get lost don´t worry, you´ll still be in some of the best riding
areas of Victoria and will be sure to enjoy it regardless.
Starting at The Gurdies you will quickly be heading inland and away
from the flat lands of the highway. Plenty of hills and curves to keep
you alert as you head to the Kernot Pub. Nice spot for an ale.
Turn left and head up to Loch. For a small township you´ll be surprised
at the number of eateries and quality food available.
There´s even a craft brewery to wet your whistle.
Refreshed you can head back south to the tiny town of Archies Creek.
Keep an eye out for the spectaular lookout on your right -
worth taking in the view. If a pub meal isn´t for you then continue through
Archies Creek to Wonthaggi for a "big town" rest spot.
The best part of the ride is still ahead as you travel inland to Warragul.
The roads are good quality but narrowish and the views get better as you
climb into the hills.
Once you go through Korumburra things only get better...
the roads soon get windier and narrower with few opportunities
to pass slow moving traffic. Watch out for oncoming cars that
go wide on corners. The views on either side are spectacular and
the roadscape constantly changes.
The only down side will be your return trip as that will most
likely be back along open freeway.
