The heart of the western fjord country. From Hermansverk, head north on Route 5 alongside the Jostedalsbreen glacier. At Skei, turn right on E39 to Byrkjelo, then hang a right towards olden then onwards to the famous Geirangerfjorden. Beauty such as this is hard to match. Alesund is a beautiful fishing town with hotels for a nights rest. From Alesund, you can make day trips to the famous Trollstiegen Pass or head south to the picturesque Norangsdalen Valley, a little travelled route that connects the town of Leknes and Hellesylt.
