This nowhere near Perth or the A9 Get to Tomintoul from Grantown on spey over A939 the bridge of brown route (ace) and then go to dufftown via the first half of this route. Or head from tomintoul turning right over the lecht road (ski location) this is a spectacular mountain crossing route which takes you to cock bridge (road always first closed every winter) follow this route throgh strathdon and left to lumsden and huntly or right to and Aberdeen. Made for bikes!
This is part of an alternative route to the A9 north (A939 and A93 being the other parts). It takes you a bit out the way if your heading to Inverness but its well worth it. When I say out the way I only mean about 70km, its nothing for the scenery you will see and the roads are great but watch out for some of the corners.
