Trail Ridge Road has been under major repair over the Summer of 2010. Plenty of delays, patchy spots, and general hassle. This should NOT be the case, however, in 2011. This is a breathtaking ride. The roads are well-made, as they are in most U.S. Natl Parks, with dozens of sweet curves. There are plenty of places to pull over and take in the views. This is not a ride you want to rush: take your time! Several times Ive ridden through the park from Estes Park to the Grand Lake side only to turn around and ride back to Estes Park. One time through just doesn seem like enough. With the roads in good shape this coming summer you will not be disappointed if you go out of your way to ride it.
Surface a bit patchy in places and can have bad weather here, but the trail ridge road is (so I'm told) the highest paved pass in the USA. Very nice experience riding this road
